AN AUTHOR'S REVIEW

I find that a number of authors on Goodreads review their own books. I'm not sure why they do, but I do it just to give a more complete idea of the story without tossing in a bunch of spoilers.

The leading lady in this story is coming from a background where reading was not encouraged and writing your own stories was not something anyone in the family or church or community did. So when the opportunity presented itself to break free she realized that is what she needed to do. Why? Because she not only loved to read she wanted to write her own novels.

On the island she chooses to retreat to, she is able to procure an old cottage, she teaches herself to work with an iPod and laptop and WORD, she falls in with a writers' group, starts a blog for a local paper and delves into writing her first novel. All around her the sea breaks into glittering bits of light, the gulls cry and swoop, the wind sculpts whitecaps and she creates her characters and storyline.

But two things are happening. The story that is happening in her head and being typed into a WORD doc and the story that is starting to unfold all around her with its own characters, plots and subplots. Sometimes one sweeps her up into its reality and holds her tight and sometimes it is the other. Finally both become intertwined. And life becomes more dazzling than she has ever experienced or could ever have imagined.

I hope you will enjoy reading the whole story! All the best and thanks for dipping into this different kind of review!
